THE OFFICE OF GRADUATE MEDICAL EDUCATION (GME) is seeking an innovative and committed educator to serve as the next Director for the Health Professions Education (HPE) Pathway. The Director of the HPE Pathway will be responsible for leading and evolving the Pathway in collaboration with faculty from the Center for Faculty Educators. Key responsibilities include overseeing the HPE Pathway, teaching core sessions, mentoring learners, recruiting expert speakers, advancing curriculum design, fostering learner engagement, and serving as an ambassador for the Pathway. • FTE Support: 0.1 FTE (10% FTE)

Skill Building
- The Center for Faculty Educators (CFE) serves as a hub for faculty to build their skills in both teaching (small group, large group, clinical, procedural, feedback) and education (curriculum development, assessment, medical education scholarship, etc..). Offerings include half-day workshops and certificate course as well as sessions to get feedback on education scholarship.
- PRO-cess Faculty Development serves to provide DOM clinician-educators with specific opportunities to learn about topics not available through the CFE. Most sessions are high-yield and 50 minutes in length.
Feedback on your teaching
- UCSF Teaching Observation Program (TOP) is run out of the CFE and pairs faculty interested in getting feedback on their teaching with expert teachers who will observe their work and provide detailed feedback
- The Academy of Medical Educators (AME) has created a brief observation teaching tool (BOTT) AME-BOTT which is a tool that allows peers to share feedback to each other in real time during all times of observed teaching.
