In collaboration with the DOM Program for Clinician-Educator Success (PRO-cess), Brad Sharpe, MD and Brad Monash, MD, led the second annual workshop series on clinical teaching for DOM faculty this past spring. This Clinical Teaching Series is based on the Stanford Clinical Teaching Program. It is a transformative seminar series on clinical teaching that has been completed by many of the most outstanding teachers at UCSF and across the country. The series includes 7 in-person, 2-hour workshops on the UCSF Health Parnassus campus.

Below is information about eligibility and the application process.  

Who is eligible to apply? The DOM aims to attract clinician-teachers/educators from all clinical sites and a mix of generalists and specialists who are dedicated to building their clinical teaching skills. 

  • Faculty must spend at least 40% of their time doing clinical work
  • Faculty at all levels in all series can apply
  • Faculty must commit to being able to attend to at least 6/7 of the sessions below
  • Signoff by your division chief is required (a sample email to your division chief can be found within the online application), and his/her commitment to provide $500 in tuition to DOM PRO-cess for facilitating the series. 

The application process includes:  

A short application the must include the following (1) brief description of how enhancing your clinical teaching skills will help you advance your career goals (≤250 words) and (2) attach your Advance CV.
